The CWC meeting of the BTEU BSNL CHQ will be held at Nagpur on 15th and 16th April 2012. Notice will be issued shortly. All the CHQ office bearers, Circle Secretaries, District Secretaries of major SSAs, Federation office bearers, State organisers, zonal incharges must attend the meeting without fail.

The convention of PSU workers held at Bangalore on 13.1.2012 has made a joint declaration on the occasion. The Hindi and English versions of the same are kept in the link circulars.

BSNL CO has issued orders regarding issue of mobile SIM card with 200.00 talk time to TMs and RMs doing out door duties and also for select categories of non executive cadres. For details see link orders.

The Circle Conference of BTEU BSNL Bihar circle will be held on 4th & 5th March 2012 at Patna. President, GS & DY.GS from the CHQ to attend. 

A malacious and ficticious SMS has been floated by certain vested interests on 9.1.12 about possible reduction  in retirement age of employees and also about rejection of VRS by the Ministry of Finance. The General Secretary spoke to some senior officers in the BSNL CO and also in the DOT and found that there is no substance to such message.  The DOT is yet to prepare the cabinet note on VRS.  Some people just to tarnish he image of the BSNL and to lower the morale of the employees are resorting to such cheap tactics. Let us not believe such words and instead put all our energies into making BSNL more vibrant.

The Circle Conference of BTEU BSNL Maharashtra circle will be held on 11.2.2012 at Nasik. The GS will attend the same.

The Govt has set up a special purpose vehicle and the name of the new company is Rajiv Gandhi National Information Super-Highway (RAJNISH) for carrying out the work of National Optical Fibre Network in the country

The BSNL Corporate office has endorsed the orders regarding admissibility of full pension after 10 years of service. For details see link oders. 

The membership verification (elections) for unions will take place on 28.2.2012 in MTNL Delhi and Mumbai. The MTNL Mazdoo Sangh (BMS) will be fighting the elections and the BTEU (BSNL) wishess its all the best.

All the circle secretaries and CHQ office bearers will please note that the last date for collection of coupon book receipts from the members will end on 31.1.2012.  Make efforts to complete the collection process before that as decided in the All India Conference.

The NE 12 pay scale file has been sent to the DOT for its approval on 3.1.2012.  The same is expected back in BSNL in a few days time.

BSNL CO has issued orders for grant of 5 increments to the JTOs of 2007 and 2008 batch and JAO of 2010 batch till their pay scale issue is resolved. For details see link orders.

Reservations for minority community : DPE has issued OM providing a sub-quota of 4.5% for religious miniorities within the 27% reservation for OBCs in recruitment and appointment in CPSEs. For details see link Orders

THE BSNL Corporte Office has granted the facility of Informal meetings to the All India BSNL Officers Association and All India Graduate Engineers Association. For details see link orders.

Some of the unions of Non executives in BSNL are pleading with the management to give them minimum trade union facilities. Some have gone to the court.  The management is now informed by the recognised union that they have no objection in case the minimum trde union facilities are granted to other unions.  They why did they oppose for amendments to the code of discipline at the time of conduct of 5th membership verification. Why this tamasha at this time. The next verification is just another year away.  The management should not give unnecssary advantage to the unrecognised unions. Let them earn recognition by winning the confidence of the workers and not by back door.

AS PER THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING THE BSNL AND MTNL HAVE EARNED FAIR RATING FROM THE GOVERNMENT AND THE SCORE OF BSNL AND MTNL STOOD AT 3.963 and 3.836 respectively

The BSNL Board has notified the Management Services Recruitment Rules for recruitment of CGM, GM and DGM cadres in BSNL.  The BSNL intends to recruit nearly 400 officers to the posts of CGM/PGM/GM and 650 officers to the posts of DGM. For details see link Orders.

BSNL CO has issued clarification regarding applicability of rule in cases of Voluntary retirement from service in respect of absorbed employees and in case of employees recruited by the BSNL. For details see link orders.

Latest news from ET Now states that the Government has asked the DOT to put up a cabinet note for VRS in BSNL.

FNTO site says that some quarters are negotiating with the management for reduction in retirement age from 60 to 58 in order to avoid VRS.  This is highly condemnable.  We oppose any such proposal and the vested interests who are behind this have to come out in the open and face the workers.

The BSNL CO ND has replied to the recognised union that the results of the JAO examination cannot be reviewed as was stated in the National Council meeting and stated that another exam will be held.  What was the recognised union doing all the while when they got a negative reply from the management in the national council.  Why was this item not included in the strike demands, is it not an important issue for them.  The BTEU BSNL would continue to fight for this just demand.
